Outside, it was cold and Brad began to walk when he saw that the woman was struggling with her basket and crutches. Her grocery bag was lying on the ground as she was trying to determine the best way to pick up the bag with her broken leg. Brad saw the opportunity to help and quickened his pace. "Please let me you with that bag" Brad asked the woman as he came within a couple of feet of her. "You seem to be having some trouble dealing with the crutches and the bag." The woman looked up quickly and her attractive face broke into a smile. Her cheeks were flushed with cold and exasperation, but a quick smile of her soft red lips revealed bright white teeth. She looked so beautiful trapped in that cast, on crutches. "Yes, yes. If you wouldn't mind, could you take the basket and the bag to my apartment? I live just around the corner. For a minute I felt that I could handle this little shopping with my new broken leg but I was wrong" Her blue-gray eyes sparkled under a streetlight as she continued to smile at Brad. He looked down and could see that her skirt had ridden up on her cast. Her coat was open at the waist and had flared out, so he could see now that the pantyhose he thought she was wearing were actually black thigh-high stocking on her good leg. Brad smiled back at her quickly. "Sure," he answered, taking the bags from her. "It's difficult enough to move around on crutches without carrying a basket too" "I don't know what I was thinking, but It's my first time breaking anything and first time on crutches" she replied as she rose to her full height, tossing her hair and scarf simultaneously behind her shoulder. She re-position her crutches and they began to walk down the sidewalk together. Her long leg enabled her to keep up with Brad's pace even on crutches. There was an awkward silence between them until Brad spoke first. "By the way, my name is Brad." "Oh, I'm terribly sorry. My name is Ste...Kimberley." Kimberley. Kimber. Kim. For whatever reasons, the name seemed to drip with sensuality, confidence, and maturity. She stopped and tried to extend her arm to shake Brad's hand. However, under the pleasure of trying to stand on a 3inch heel while on crutches she was unable to do so. They both laughed at her awkward attempt and continued to walk. Kimberley's high heel clicked on the sidewalk as they turned the corner. Brad had only a half-block to charm Kimberley. Would he be able to do it? "I really appreciate your help, Brad. I'm not sure what I was going to do with my cast and wearing this short skirt, if you hadn't come along. I live in this building - so your job is almost done." Kimberley turned to smile again at Brad. For a stranger, she was quite friendly. Her diamond ring sparkled brightly in the night. "Wow I live across the street," Brad said, nodding toward his building across the street. The buildings faced each other and were separated by a one-way street. Brad wondered if he had ever seen Kimberley before in the vicinity, but quickly decided that he would not have forgotten someone so alluring on crutches if he had. "It's amazing that we live so close to each other. I don't recall ever seeing you. Surely I would have remembered the face of such a nice-looking man!" Brad was surprised at this unconcealed compliment and - despite Kimberley's obvious wedding ring - decided to return the flattery. "Had I known that you lived across the street, I would have offered to be your errand boy much sooner than tonight." Kimberley laughed. "Well, it's never too late, you know, I will be on crutches for the next 10 weeks" She turned to him and winked as she said this. Brad was impressed at how quickly he had gotten her to warm up to him but he quickly wondered why she smiled warmly about being on crutches for the next 10 weeks. The doorman came out from behind the front desk to assist Kimberley but she stopped him with an upraised hand. "That's all right, William. My friend will help me bring that bag up. Won't you, Brad?" Kimberley looked back at Brad and winked again. Was she flirting with him? "Ok Miss Stephanie" William said Brad nodded and said, "Yes. Yes, I'd be more than happy to help you." Kimberley smiled; at the same time, Brad felt the doorman glare at him. He also wondered why the doorman called her Stephanie Kimberley walked toward the elevators and Brad took notice of the way her Cast swing between her crutches. Brad wondered how she would look naked with only her cast on in her bed. Once again, her heel clicked piercingly on the white marble floor. They reached the elevator and stepped inside. "Normally, I wouldn't ask a stranger up to my apartment, but you seem so nice. Most of my errand boys don't get past the doorman. You should consider yourself special." When Brad looked at her questioningly, Kimberley began to laugh. She reached out to touch his shoulder. "I am joking with you. Despite tonight's helpless display, I am very self- sufficient. However, my broken leg changed the situation a bit but I think I picked a good night to need help. You've been a very able assistant up to this point. Now my problem is deciding on how generous to make your reward so you will want to help me every night." Again, she laughed and squeezed Brad's arm. Brad was going to say something in response but the elevator doors opened and they stepped out onto the 28th floor. The hallway was covered in plush carpeting and the sound of Kimberley's heel was now muffled. The distance between the apartment doors led Brad to believe that the residences behind them were quite large. As soon as Kimberley opened the door to her apartment, Brad's impression was confirmed. Kimberley balanced on her good leg while she took off her coat as Brad placed the bag in the huge front hallway. The hallway opened up into an enormous living room. From what he could see, the living room had three walls of floor-to- ceiling windows that offered a view of Ottawa's skyline. After taking in the view for a mere second, Brad directed his attention back to Kimberley. She had her back turned to him while hanging up her coat in the front closet. He immediately noticed two things about Kimberley with her coat off: Her skirt was shorter than he had previously thought and her cast was even longer than he realized. "Would you like something to drink?" Kimberley asked Brad, her head still buried in the closet with her crutches tucked under her arms. He had a great view of her broken leg, specially the bottom of her cast. The cast was perfect. There's nothing like a plaster cast "No, uh, no. That's ok. It's been a, uh, long day. I really should be going," Brad stammered. He turned his head away from the sight of Kimberley's luscious leg and looked out the window at the distant lights. He felt a lump growing in his pants, thinking of Kimberley's gorgeous face, trim body and broken leg. "But I'd like you to stay, Brad." He heard the now-familiar click of her heel and crutches behind him as Kimberley crutched over and stood in front of Brad. "I want to thank you for helping me. That was so sweet of you." Brad looked down into Kimberley's eyes. Kimberley's breasts were bigger than Brad had given her credit for. The silk of her shirt brushed against Brad's chest and he could feel her cast rubbed on his leg. Kimberley's face broke into a wide smile when Brad finally said, "OK, I will have a drink - but only one." Part 3 to come
